2Timothy 03:08 Jannes and Jambres

Did you know that Jannes and Jambres are mentioned in the Old Testament Targum Jonathan Exodus 7:11-8:19? Paul may have used an Aramaic Targum of the Old Testament.

It seems likely. Surely, as an educated Pharisee, as he refers to himself, Saul-Paul had access to such documents.

My Jewish friends, however, question his Pharisaic credentials, stating that no record shows that Gamaliel ever had a pupil named Saul.

It's an issue deserving of more study.
