"Let it be so now; for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness." - Matthew 3:15

Jesus made this statement just before his baptism. If you think about it, these words are appropriate at every baptism. Part of the reason that we get baptized is to fulfill all righteousness.

Hoping that you continue to fulfill righteousness all your life,

Matthew 3:15 … “Let it be so now; for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.”

Jesus spoke these words to John the Baptist before John baptized Him. Notice that Jesus includes John in “fulfilling all righteousness.” John’s ministry eventually cost him his life, but before it did he revealed the Lamb of God to Israel.
