In Luke 2:34,
Simeon said to Mary, Jesus’ mother, “Behold, this child is destined for the
fall and rising of many in Israel.
Satan’s plan was
for Jesus to “fall” from the pinnacle of the temple. In Luke 4:9, Satan set Jesus
on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to him, “If you are God’s Son, throw
yourself down from here.”
God’s plan was for
Jesus to rise from the tomb. Acts 13:30 But God raised him from the dead.
Will you fall?
1Peter 02:07-08, “The
very stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone,” 8
and, “A stone that causes men to stumble and a rock that makes them fall.”
Or
will you rise?
1Thessalonians
4:16 “For the Lord himself will descend from heaven, with a loud command, with
the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in
Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught
up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we
shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these
words.”
