In the foreshadowing of the virgin birth, Mary
is foreshadowed by Rebekah. In today’s parallel - God provided information
about the future of Mary and Rebekah’s unborn children and the nature of their
pregnancies.
Matthew 1:20 But as he [Joseph] considered
this, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph,
son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary your wife. For that which is
conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.
Genesis 25:23 And
the LORD said to her, "Two nations are in your womb, and two peoples, born
of you, shall be divided; the one shall be stronger than the other, the elder
shall serve the younger."
