In the foreshadowing of the virgin birth, Mary
is foreshadowed by Rebekah. Both Mary and Rebekah were blessed by their
relatives. The combination of similarities identified so far in this
foreshadowing study are unique to only Mary and Rebekah in the Bible.
Luke 1:42 And she
[Elizabeth] exclaimed with a loud cry, “Blessed are you [Mary] among women, and
blessed is the fruit of your womb!
Genesis 24:60 And
they blessed Rebekah, and said to her, "Our sister, be the mother of
thousands of ten thousands; and may your descendants possess the gate of those
who hate them!"
